Snowy Break

 I started teaching English in a high school this month one day a week. The students are sweet and well-behaved. I still have a few wrinkles concerning technology to iron out, but overall, it is going well. I enjoy working with the other English teachers. The university classes are still on break.  December and January are the exam period.  Last Tuesday, I administered an oral English exam with one of the other teachers. On Thursday, I got together with three of the English teachers to mark the Academic English writing exam. Afterwards, we went to a new cafe that has just opened in our building. I shared some fudge that I made. I couldn't find ingredients like evaporated milk, chocolate chips, and marshmallow creme, so I improvised with cooking cream that was on sale and chocolate bars. Boldog új évet!

I seem to be a few days behind in wishing my readers a happy new year! I cannot claim that I was too busy. For the first time in nine years I acutally have a semester break that is longer than a couple of weeks. I've been working on lesson plans and designing games to play for my courses. I found a website the makes jigsaw puzzles from photographs and created a puzzle for the first day of my games class which starts in February: Game Design Puzzle *   I've also been designing games and activities for my classes at the high school where I begin teaching on Friday.   The weather has been spring like for the last few days. For Szeged, that means that the temperature has been in the 60s (around 15 Celcius), but it wasn't like that after Christmas. Last Monday and Tuesday,  we were under a red alert, watching for an ice storm.
